ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Designer Brittany Castaños, dubbed the “Strong-Willed Child,” was raised by former hippies in California. Thirteen years ago, driven by a desire to challenge the antiquated views of the “Virgin Bride,” Castaños founded Daughters Of Simone.
What started with 1970s wedding gowns discovered in local thrift shops, has now blossomed into nine full production collections. Castaños’s background in Cultural Anthropology inspires her collections, seeking to use them to highlight stories of women who often go untold and unseen.
