1. YOU MIGHT NOT FEEL READY
Sometimes THE dress shows up before you feel ready; emotionally, financially, or mentally. That moment can feel exciting and heavy at the same time. Both feelings are valid. We are here to help guide you!
2. GETTING IN & OUT OF GOWNS
It can feel awkward and exposing. But your stylist is there to make sure you feel comfortable each step of the way! We are only paying attention to making each dress fit you beautifully and we always confirm you are comfortable with us in the room with you!
3. TRYING ON DRESSES "JUST FOR FUN"
It sounds harmless… but without intention, it often creates more overwhelm than insight. Many brides have told us they feel paralyzed by decision fatigue, especially if they are indecisive (which we get!).
4. AVOID APPOINTMENT OVERWHELM
We understand and appreciate wanting to get an idea of what is available. Just keep in mind… Each appointment adds more choices. Each gown carries a feeling. Too many options can make the decision feel harder, not clearer.
5. LETS CLARIFY SIZING
Bridal sizing works differently than everyday clothing. So don't be surprised by the number inside the gown (easier said than done, we know!). Sizing does not define you and it is just a number. Our focus is only on ordering a dress that will fit as the designer intended.
6. A NOTE ON SAMPLE GOWNS
Sample gowns are meant to show shape and possibility. Your dress is ordered based on measurements and the designer size chart and then it is tailored to your body. That’s where the magic really happens!
7. ALTERATIONS MISCONCEPTIONS
Alterations are part of the process for nearly every bride. They’re how a gown becomes yours. Keep in mind that dresses are created on mannequins, so even in your size, adjustments are almost always required. We suggest 3-4 months for alterations when possible.
8. BE AWARE OF TIMING
Starting early isn't about pressure. It's about giving yourself room to breathe, time for production (4-7 months) and tailoring (3-4 months), and space to enjoy the journey rather than rushing through it. We recommend around 9-12 months for the full process if you can!
9. GO IN WITH A PLAN
Choose your appointments thoughtfully and give yourself time. Do your research on which bridal shops feel the most aligned with the style and overall vibe you are looking for.
We never want you to rush into saying yes and we do not want time constraints to limit your options or make you feel rushed to choose.
10. WHO YOU BRING MATTERS
Bringing friends and family that make you feel confident and beautiful is so important. Don’t invite someone who might make you question yourself. It’s YOUR day!

How long do wedding dresses typically take to arrive?
Our dress collection typically takes between 4 to 7 months to come in, depending on the designer.
How long should I expect wedding dress alterations to take?
We suggest allowing 2-4 months for alterations. The more time you have, the better and stress free experience you will have!
Does Runaway Bridal have in-house alterations?
We do not offer in-house alterations at Runaway Bridal but we do have a preferred vendors list with tailors we love and trust to do an amazing job.
Are your bridal suites private?
Yes, all of our bridal suites at Runaway Bridal are private. Enjoy the bridal suite viewing area for just you and your group.
How long is an appointment at Runaway Bridal?
First bridal appointments at Runaway Bridal are 90 minutes. Follow-up, pick-up, and styling appointments are 45 minutes long.
What is the price range of dresses at Runaway Bridal?
What is the size range of your wedding dress samples?
Our dress samples range from bridal size 6 to 26, with reordering options between 0 and 32.
How does bridal sizing work?
Depending on the designer and your measurements, your bridal size will typically be at least two sizes higher than your average street size.
How does the wedding dress ordering process work?

- We take your measurements
- We order off of the designer size chart based on your measurements. We always try to get your dress ordered in the size closest to your measurements.
- We require a 70% deposit to place the order. We will also go over all invoice details and our sales agreement.
- We place the order with the designer and anticipate 4-7 months of production time depending on the designer.
- Pick up your dress when it arrives! Try your dress on at your pick-up appointment to ensure it looks beautiful.
- Take your dress to alterations to have it fit beautifully to your body!
I am on a shorter timeline, what options do I have?
We have a large selection of off-the-rack dresses in store! Find your wedding dress and take it home with you in the same day at an incredible price!
