What does the process to clean a dress involve?

Wedding Dress Preseration Co. has several different processes that are used for cleaning. Each dress is evaluated when it arrives at their facility and the best cleaning process for that particular gown is used. All  processes are safe, gentle and environmentally safe. 

They are able to remove approximately 95% of all stains – including tar, blood, perspiration, grass, mud, grease, and food, being the most common, as well as any sugar stains from cake icing, wine and other beverages.
 

After your dress is expertly cleaned it is then fitted on an acid-free bust form and packed in an acid-neutral preservation chest. The preservation chest has a display window which will display your gown and veil. Any other items will be positioned at the bottom of the window, where possible, or packed underneath your dress.

Yes! You can include shoes with your cleaning or preservation order for an additional fee. Shoes are spot cleaned and then wrapped in tissue paper and placed in the preservation chest under the gown. If you are cleaning only or prefer your shoes to stay separate from the preservation box, you can have the shoes boxed and shipped separately from the gown.

You can send items such as your veil, headpiece, gloves, garter, handkerchief, slip, flower girl gown, etc. Additional fees may apply.

It is total personal preference on whether you decide to clean and preserve or just clean your gown! Cleaning includes expert gown cleaning, lightly pressed, and secured on a bust form hanger, in a garment bag. If you choose not to preserve, there is no 100-year guarantee. 

Wedding Gown Preservation Company prides itself on having a highly trained staff that can handle most repairs for a nominal fee. They can give you a call to discuss pricing options for the repairs your gown may need. 
 

The cleaning and preservation process plus shipping will take between 5-12 weeks. 

Yes! The Wedding Dress Preservation Co. provides a 100 year guarantee against caramelized sugar stains or yellowing on dress preservation. If at anytime your gown is found to have yellowed or has caramelized stains they will reprocess the gown at no additional cost. If reprocessing is found to be unsuccessful they will refund the preservation cost. REMEMBER: Never store your gown in the attic or basement.

Yes! If you purchased a sample dress or need cleaning beforehand for any other reason, we can send your dress out for cleaning. Cleaning only takes 3 weeks plus shipping time (3-4 days each way). 

They can also provide a rush service which takes 7-10 days plus shipping time (3-4 days each way).
